USA Supporters Meet and Greet

Friday, Oct 10
5:30 pm-until closing
Momo’s Sports Bar
1334 U St, NW
Washington, DC
Start on the second and third floors (we’ll take over the whole place if need be).
No charge to enter
Momo’s is one of our DC United game viewing bars, they’ve even named their first floor the Eagles Nest. Beer is cold, food is better than usual bar food (they have Guinness on tap) and the staff couldn’t be cooler.
If Momo’s gets too packed, we recommend heading down U St and take a left on Vermont Ave to Duffy’s (they were great to us when we did the pub crawl for the first US-Cuba game). If you like cheap beer (Schlitz, Shaefer, Pabts), this is the place for you. View Larger Map
Both places are accessible by Metro (take the U Street exit on the Yellow/Green Line). Use the Metro ride guide to plot your route there. There are two exits, use the Civil War Memorial one if you are heading to Duffy’s (cross the street and head up Vt Ave, Duffy’s is on the left). and the 13th St one to go to Momo’s (bear left at street level and cross 13th St and walk past the RiteAid. Momo’s is in the middle of the block).
FOR DINNER/ HELP FOR VEGETARIANS: Both Momo’s and Duffy’s have veggie burgers as well as meat options (the ribs at Momo’s are notably good). Other nearby dinner options are Busboys and Poets (has awesome veggie/vegan options including vegan cheesecake!) and Ben’s Chili Bowl (has veggie chili). Ben’s is a 50 yr old DC institution (you cannot get elected to local office unless you eat a half smoke slathered in chili sauce; open 24 hrs so check out).
Tourist Info

We will have some activities planned but there’s also a ton of stuff to see and do in D.C.

Ground Transportation
The easiest and cheapest way to get around D.C. is to take Metro (trains and buses). If you want to go to the Georgetown neighborhood, use the Metro Connection or the DC Circulator buses. There are public transportation options from the 3 area airports, BWI, National and Dulles. Note that cabs in D.C. have switched over to meters. If you are a member of Zipcar, we have this service in the D.C. area.
