What Does Club and Country Mean?

We are often asked why we are a supporters’ club for both our club team and national side. Well, this month gives us ample reason to show why!

Whether it is away on the road or here at home, we provide support for the sport in the Nation’s Capital. We are determined to make it possible for our fans to participate as fully as possible so that we strengthen soccer’s hold on our fair city. Please consider taking advantage of some of the opportunities during the month of May.

Travel To Not-So-Distant Lands

We represent our city and team when we venture beyond our borders. We will have a contingent heading to the Great White North this weekend to one of our favorite destinations in Canada.

Of course, nothing comes close to crashing in on someone else’s party and watching your side beat them in their gorgeous new grounds!

We will be joining with all of Houston to celebrate the addition of a sparkling new venue to watch our sport. Of course, the extravaganza is sold out, but we have tickets for those brave enough to dive into a sea of orange.

Do you hold fond memories of Kasey Keller stoning a soccer superpower?

Well, we will get the chance to see if Tim Howard can replicate the feat here in our very own backyard. After all, he and the rest of Klinsi’s stars knocked off Italy in Genoa, so why not Brazil at home? We have procured a massive block of seats so that we can stand behind him in a sea of Red, White and Blue.

You and all your friends are invited to be a part of our efforts to throw as much vocal support behind the National Team that we can muster!

Take a Moment to Rejoice

While we were busy celebrating a wonderful victory over the Dynamo with a deluge of goals at rainy RFK with a team that had showed Olsen’s Army the spirit we have been waiting for, there should have been no pity for the team decked out in orange.

We will be facing them again in less than two short weeks.

In fact, we will be a bit part of their Texas-sized celebration in Houston.

Whatever the score ends up on the field, everybody that attends will be able to witness a win for the sport as yet another brand spanking new stadium is opened.

We Still Have Work to Do

While We Mess With Texas in their new home, it is yet another stark reminder of how much further we must go before we get to celebrate in similar style.

We have fought alongside KeepDCUnited.org for lease terms that allow us to continue for a short period in the venerable and crumbling venue on East Capitol St., but that was only the first step in a long road.

Would you believe it, Nick DeLeon is having the last laugh at the expense of his detractors. With his goal that stuck another pin into the hopes of the Red Bull balloon, Nick is on his way to breaking DC United’s rookie goal tally.

Will he score again on Saturday? Why not give him a little added incentive by joining in the 10th Anniversary pledge campaign for United for D.C.

Time to Help is Now!

The match against Houston is also the 13th Annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day on April 28, but you don’t have to wait until the weekend! CAUSE (Community Action Uniting Screaming Eagles) will be helping out United Builds on Wednesday evening and we could really use some more hands.

What: Creating care packages to send to our deployed troops
