Wow, US Soccer fans Rejoice!

USA Supporters Wide View

What a Send-Off

If you were humming “We are Going to Brazil!” this morning it is for very good reason.

US Soccer fans have nothing to be ashamed about, despite what the Clegg’s of the world might say in the Wall Street Journal. Feel free to weigh in on our Facebook discussion with your own thoughts on this article http://online.wsj.com/articles/why-i-hate-american-soccer-fans-1402012291.

Those of us who support Club & Country are not deterred one iota by the naysayers and, in fact, we will revel in our obsession over the next few weeks like never before!

Matt's shot of Jozy & Michael

Walking in a Jozy Wonderland!

Timing is everything and Mr. Altidore has found his scoring touch at precisely the right moment. It is not just his teammates who are thrilled, but a whole nation of supporters brought to their feet with relief.

For those of you who may have missed out on the Nigerian nightmare in Jacksonville, our founder and photobug extraordinaire has a plethora of pics that capture the moment in all its Red, White and Blue glory.

It is rare not to find Matt Mathai at a D.C. United match, but you can see why he missed the double header dance at Danny’s place.

Steven is Number One

Birnbaum Makes Solid Debut

For those brave souls who sweated it out at FedEx and got a chance to see that penalty kicks are not exactly a sure thing, there was one huge positive to take away. Any doubts that our #1 pick, Steven Birnbaum, was “an MLS-ready centerback” were quickly erased as the rookie was seemingly everywhere.

While Cesc Fabregas may have been daydreaming of playing for Chelsea with his atrocious miss, Fabian Espindola’s failed attempt in stoppage time to outwit the keeper has far more serious repercussions.

Although the Black & Red tossed way the golden opportunity to take 1st place, at least the Revs choking at home has still left the door wide open! No time to recover as a mid-week match in Montreal beckons.
