2014 is Here – Are You Ready?
Hard to believe that we are in the New Year already as our heads are spinning with how fast the off-SEason seems to be whirring by! So many changes are being rung in that if you blinked you may have missed some.
Nick Kosar has helpfully come up with his “4 Reasons It’s Good to Be A DC United Fan in 2014” and it is definitely worth a read. However, we want to know if you can think of a fifth! We are particularly looking forward to a return of our “Blackout” playoff culture – in fact, we yearn for it!
Return of Old Friends
In case you somehow missed it, the first step towards that goal is having the team add some veterans to our core of young talent and we are excited to see how it all comes together. We are thrilled to see these new old faces added to our squad and it is worth sifting through what Bobby Boswell, Sean Franklin and Davy Arnaud have to say about their potential contributions to the team.
Bottom line – these guys are all winners and have the rings to prove it.
We Will Soon Return to the Environs of RFK
Sure we are all chomping at the bit to get back to making new friends in Lot 8 and rocking the Nest in RFK, but there is some unfinished business to attend to first. Have you signed up for the $10 trek to the MLS SuperDraft to Philly yet? We are pumped to welcome the #1 Draft Pick to the fold.
Or are you thinking about heading down for the Carolina Challenge Cup in Charleston? That’s right, even before the season begins, we are going to be heading out on roadtrips and if you have questions, drop Jimi a note at email@example.com as he is busy putting a whole slew of treks together.
Come Join Our Volunteers
But wait, there’s more! Our merry band of futbol fanatics are already hard at work conjuring up activities for the new SEason. SEAT (Screaming Eagles at the Theater) will be spending our next film-going experience watching a story of patriotism, courage and sacrifice. If you are interested in seeing Lone Survivor with the rest of us on Saturday, January 11th, drop a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last, but certainly not least, if you helped out anytime last year or would like to jump in to assist in continuing our tradition of putting on the finest tailgates in the league and serving the community - please circle the First of February on your calendars.
