Cherish the Cup
It may not be Aladdin’s lamp, but fans have been seen being granted wishes with the Cup! The lucky piece of silverware began its tour of the region last night on H Street and you don’t want to miss out on stops from the Verizon Center to Richmond this month.
Perhaps the luck will continue when the Benny and Dave show uses the #1 pick in the draft, #1 allocation slot and the moolah from MLS to compete internationally next year!
Thumbs Up for Two Great Causes
Robert Gillespie passes along thanks to everyone who came out and supported the Barra Mini-Golf event last night. It was a fantastic night, great fun with the players and a nice amount was raised for both United for D.C. and the National Capital Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Don’t forget that there is another great opportunity to help United for D.C. out this coming Sunday at the Acumen Solution’s 8K Race for a Cause and 1-Mile Fun Run. Did you catch Molly’s piece on HuffPo? Please register for the run or sponsor a kid by noon Thursday!
Bring Your Friends Out to Lot 8
Photos from our last home game are up and show what a great time fans had at RFK. This Saturday is the perfect opportunity to introduce your posse to the atmosphere both at the Octoberfest tailgate and inside the stadium as we try to lock out the Union from the playoffs.

Tommy Said it Best
Dan Steinberg of SportsBog fame captured a great quote from D.C. Councilmember Tommy Wells last night:
“We are a great international city, and a great international city has a great soccer team and a great soccer stadium.”
We couldn’t agree with this local leader more! If you want to help fulfill that dream of a beautiful ground at Buzzard Point, please join the effort to Keep D.C. United. Dave Johnson had a great feature on our effort on Monumental Network and you can watch it here:
Good Luck to those Going to KC
Apparently Benny isn’t the only one having to do a wee bit of tinkering with line-ups due to injuries! Klinsi keeps having to adjust his squad in the run up to the Reggae Boyz rumble. All roads may lead to Brazil, but the ever-changing line-up should make for quite an interesting contest.
Safe travels to those heading out to Sporting Park this week and if you are thinking of venturing out there for the Sporks – DCU match on the 18th, drop Jimi a note at email@example.com for tickets.
