Joker’s Wild – Olsen’s Army Version

Not THAT Joker in the Middle

The Joker in the Middle

No, Ben didn’t mean THIS Joker in the Middle (click on pic)… but our favorite fine feathered friend would have done a better job!

Seriously, EVERY D.C. United fan should see Ben’s priceless (except for the inevitable fine) post-game rant on CSN.

What were the odds that this joker was going to ruin a perfectly entertaining match for us? No, we’re not saying it was rigged like some old game show, just that the officiating in this league has gone beyond laughable.

New Shield

Let’s Have Some Fun With It!

At this point in the season, we’re searching for ways to amuse the long-suffering fan base . So, how about a wee contest on social media?!! We’ve decided that Joker in the Middle is too good a meme to pass up. So use the hashtag #JITM on twitter in the most amusing or novel manner over the next few weeks and you’ll get a prize.

For those not on twitter, how about Facebook? Can you come up with the best caption for the pic of the Supporters’ Shield on Tour at RFK? We thank Anthony Marill not only for this shot, but also for joining the SE paparazzi pool and hope to see many more examples of his wonderful work. While we await Matt Mathai’s contributions from the ‘Caps match, pics taken by Kim Kolb are already up. Enjoy!!

All fans enjoy a good brew

Lot 8 Was Hopping

Plenty of fans from the Great White North to the Nation’s Capital came out early to the tailgate and got a chance to down the new IPA from DC Brau. Pyramids Under the Sea was polished off to plaudits from the connoisseurs in the crowd as Anthony captured the pouring action in the beverage bivouac.

The new brew joined El Hefe Speaks and the rest of the line-up to wet the whistle of the thirsty tailgaters who busied themselves on the cornhole and bocce courts courtesy of United Social Sports that added to the pre-match merriment.

Points Pints Pride

Points, Pints and Pride on Display

Three in a row was not to be, but at least we got to meet some very cool visitors from Vancouver along the way. We know they will be celebrating Canada Day in style!

We hope they enjoyed their stay and have a safe trip home. Next time we’ll come visit their Pacific Northwest paradise and steal some points and share some pints!! But first, we have to sound off at CenturyLink on Wednesday night.

Supporting Kyle

Beyond Just Club & Country

After matches like that it is worth stepping back and focusing on what is really important. Some things simply transcend the game.

On Saturday at the tailgate Donald and Chris showed their support for Kyle Lindsay.
