DC United with a Point to Prove

Pummeling Philly at the Plex

The fans were certainly in for a treat with DeRo’s pefect timing in adding to his history of  hat tricks on Wednesday to set up an Open Cup Quaterfinal meeting with the REVS on Wednesday, June 26th. With this emphatic victory over the Union, the squad played with a chip on its shoulder and a point to prove to both fans and the rest of the league that they are ready to fight back this season.

For those of you counting at home, New England’s own advancement in the cup means that the Metro Playoff Failure crew in NY/NJ/greater whatever are now 0 for 52 in all competitions when it comes to chances of filling the trophy cabinet (hat tip to Grant Wahl for doing the math for us!). Say what you will about our current season, at least we’re not the Same Old Metros, Always Stinking!!

The Black & Red, on the other hand, are on the upswing with plenty of positives to take from this match. Which excited you the most? The play of Taylor Kemp at left back? The versatility displayed by Nick DeLeon? The dominance displayed by the whole side as they harried those poor Philly players into submission?

Check out Kim Kolb’s pics from Germantown for a taste of all the action and see you in two weeks time as we continue our Cup run!

Donald Will Be There – How About You?

In the meantime we will be taking on some Canadian visitors at our home along the banks of the mighty Anacostia on Saturday and you are welcome to invite friends to the party! There will even be a special half-time ceremony to congratulate our own Donald Wine II on his naming of the new offering from D.C. Brau as The Tradition. He has spent many a moment in front of the Nest exhorting the fans to cheer for the team, now we have a chance to return the favor!

Come Celebrate with Dad

With spectacular weather and D.C. Brau on tap, what better time to get an early start on Father’s Day by bringing him out to the game?

Our volunteers will be hard at work setting up for another terrific tailgate, so bring dad out early to enjoy all the pre-game festivities beginning at 3pm!

USA fans celebrate

RFK rocked with Happy Red White and Blue Fans

Whether you came out to the big Centennial match and celebration that we put on for the USA – Germany match or not, you don’t want to miss this fun piece by Michael Lipin for the Voice of America!

There is a pretty good chance that you might recognize some familiar faces. The fans of the Nation’s Capital have always led the way when it comes to supporting the good old US of A!
