Thanks for Bringing Friends to RFK
The crowd in Lot 8 before the match was a good indication that there was going to be a big boisterous turnout on hand to welcome the new season back to the venerable grounds along the mighty Anacostia.
The weatherman certainly played a helpful part, but the bottom line is that fans flocked to see the Black & Red defend its home and keep the streak alive!
Everyone Got Colorful
What a show it was, thanks to the many volunteers who put in so much effort to kick the season off with style. Below an unfurling quote from Emerson, a sea of red and white appeared to take over half the loud side.
The District of Columbia flag took over the stands and the tradition of spectacular tifo was noticed far and wide! Bravo to all who took part!!
Everyone Celebrates with Pure Pajoy
Most importantly, the oft-maligned striker was at the right place at the right time to finish off Real after a deft chip from the wily veteran in midfield. John Thorrington exhorted the crowd to cheer while the rest of the team showed Lionard Pajoy their appreciation for his header past Nick Rimando.
Grab Some Popcorn This Should Be Fun
For those who couldn’t stay up late, Mike Petke’s minions had another collapse on the road. So, if the transitive property works at all we have a pretty darn good shot against the winless Pink Cows. RSL had stolen three points from the same Earthquakes that RBNY couldn’t hold onto thanks to their own version of Miller time.
All the more reason to jump on the bus this Saturday for our St. Paddy’s Day Romp at Red Bull Arena as we turn their home into RFK North yet again.
Just drop a note to Jimi at firstname.lastname@example.org to grab a ticket to the match or a seat on the bus!
