SE Tailgate-SPECIAL MENU!!
With a Texan opponent we’re replacing a few of the tailgate menu items with some Tex-Mex entrees and sides. Of course we will have options for carnivores and vegetarians. Wearing your best cowboy and/or western gear is highly encouraged.

For your drinking pleasure we’ll have Shiner, Oberon, and Miller Lite. Also Negra Modelo and Modelo Especial (thanks to our great partners at Corona!)
Sides, Desserts & Volunteers NEEDED! We will need some sides and desserts (if you want to make Tex-Mex-y, wonderful). As always you don’t need to make enough for an army and doesn’t have to be home made.
Please contact Suzanne at queenofcheese@screaming-eagles.com if you plan on bringing something so we can leave space on the tables (if you’re bringing something that needs to be heated up or kept warm we REALLY need to know in advance what’s coming).
We need volunteers in ALL of the usual areas (set up/tear down, grill, drink tent, buffet and membership table). If you volunteer you eat for free. Please contact Thea at thea@screaming-eagles.com

United Builds: Beautification Day at Ketcham Elementary School

The SEs will be joining D.C. United at D.C. Public Schools Beautification Day 2010. We will be beautifying Ketcham Elementary School, one of United for D.C.’s adopted schools housing both the United Reads and United Soccer Club programs. We will be taking over a number of tasks that day to help spruce up the school before the 2010-2011 school year begins. Activities may include gardening, painting, picking up trash, landscaping, or general maintenance. Drinks & snacks will be provided throughout the day.
All D.C. United volunteers will receive a United Builds program t-shirt (or like Suzanne here, wear your most cursed United playoff t-shirt). Bring your own work gloves and extra tools if you can (in our experience there is never enough tools at this events).

Interested in Going Tubular?
We’re kicking the tires on doing a river tubing trip Sat, Aug 28 at Royal Canoe in Front Royal, VA. Members and non are welcome (as well as persons under 18 provided come with parent or guardian). If you’d be interested, send email to kim@screaming-eagles.com Say how many possibly in your party and if you’d like to take a bus (fee would include tubing and bus, same price for members and non). We would like to firm up by next Monday so please reply by 12 noon 8/16. So far we have about 12 people interested.
