No, we’re absolutely not talking about Bob Foose’s brinkmanship at the negotiating table with billionaires!
Rather, there are so many upcoming events to keep your spirits inflated, that your soccer social calendar might even rival your office tournament bracket sheet. So here’s a quick guide from SE central to help keep everything in order:
Saturday, March 20th United Builds at the National Marathon
Coffee Pot Cup Match in Charleston
Thursday, March 25th Group of Death Get-Down
Saturday, March 27th 2010 Kick-Off Shindig and Viewing Party
Tuesday, March 30th March Goodness Competition Ends
Tuesday, April 1st United for DC Luncheon

Lace Up Early
United Builds could use a few more hands at the Powerade pumps, so to speak this Saturday morning.
Come help out at the National Marathon all bedecked in your black and red! Drop Kat a note if you can help out at KCheshire@dcunited.com
We’ll be gathering in Lot 7 for some fun Rock n’ Roll action as we make it entertaining for both the runners and fellow volunteers.

Coffee Pot is up for Grabs
We fully expect to see Lonnie holding onto the cup again after Saturday’s night match against the Battery. However, there is a pretty good chance that with two wins already in the competition, DCU is poised to bring home the Carolina Challenge Cup as well!
So, if you haven’t joined the road trip down to Charleston, find a moment to watch it live on the tubes courtesy of the folks up in Toronto.

Cherry Blossoms are Coming!
And that, of course, means a fun co-ed adult soccer tournament with our friends at District Sports that kicks off with a bit of frivolity:
Group of Death Get-Down Party
Thursday, March 25th
6pm – 9pm
Town Tavern in Adams Morgan

A Night of Skee, Soccer and Smiles
Do you have your team set up yet for the A-SPAN Bar Triathlon and DC United season opening viewing party?
If not, don’t sweat it – everyone is welcome to come enjoy the 2010 Kick-Off Shindig
Saturday, March 27th
6pm – until long after the KC – DCU match is over
Continental Modern Pool Lounge
Heck, you can even form a team at the door!

Bracket Busting Bucks
For the next two weeks , United for D.C. will take part of Razoo’s “March Goodness Competition” and you can’t pass up this opportunity to assist.
The competition invites top nonprofits to raise money and compete for $20,000 in grants and prizes. Razoo’s web site will track donations made to United for D.C.
Every donation not only goes straight to fund all the signature programs of United for D.C. including United Soccer Clubs, Kicks for Kids, and United Reads but also gets us one step closer to the nonprofit “final four”.
A donation must be made through United for D.C.’s Project Page in order to count for the competition.
During the first round of the competition, nonprofits will be ranked by the number of unique donors, while the Final Four stage will be decided by the total amount of funds raised.
So just a $10 donation from you can make a big difference!
You can even check out how United for DC is doing in comparison with the competitors from the East Region by clicking here.

The Table is Being Set Just for You

Eighth Annual Kick-off Luncheon
Thursday, April 1st
12pm – 2pm

Begin the month off with a bang!
Take a long lunch with fellow SE’s and break bread with United’s players and staff. A great couple of hours of schmoozing for a good cause.
