Sadly, We Did Not Return Victorious From Our Travels
But the SE road trippers to Mexico City and/or Toronto had a great time despite the scores of both games. There’s plenty to see and do in both cities so there was plenty of exploring (and we ate and drank VERY well!!) We’ll post some more travel tales later in the week (or you’ll have to buy us some beers at the game on Sat for the REALLY juicy stuff). Sides, Desserts & Volunteers NEEDED! As this game is the return of former D.C. United player (and VERY recent Price as Right contestant) Alecko Eskandarian to RFK we’re expecting a VERY big crowd at the tailgate (hey, who doesn’t like the Price is Right?) So, we REALLY could use some desserts and sides. As always, you don’t need to make enough for an army and food doesn’t have to be home made.
Please contact Jeff at tailgates@screaming-eagles.com if you plan on bringing something so we can leave enough space on the buffet tables (if you’re bringing something that needs to be heated up or kept warm we REALLY need to know in advance what’s coming so we put out extra food warmers).
HELP WANTED: We need volunteers in all of the usual tailgate areas (set up/tear down, grill, drink tent, buffet and membership table). Many of the tailgate crew regulars won’t be available for this game so we need other members to step up and lend a hand (we don’t bite, join the party!) If you volunteer you eat for free and you get to hang out with the best damn tailgate crew in MLS! Please contact Thea at thea@screaming-eagles.com if you can volunteer and she can give more details on the various jobs, when to show up and who to report to.

D.C. United Needs Your Help
United for D.C. is looking for some volunteers to participate in two building local projects for ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover starting Sat, Aug 22-Sat, Aug 29. United for DC (and possibly players) will be at the 8/23, 8/24 & 8/27 sessions. Duties could be anything (but hopefully not including waxing Ty Pennington’s chest!) Contact Kat Cheshire at DC United (kcheshire@dcunited.com) by Tuesday, Aug 18 (sorry for the late notice, they just got told yesterday). Kat needs your complete contact info and what shift you want to work (9am – 3:30pm, 3pm – 9:30pm, 9pm – 3:30am, 3am – 9:30am).
We Win Trophies Tour The team needs our help promoting the US Open Cup final at RFK, Sept 2 (and you can drink beer while you are volunteering!) Simply show up at any of the happy hours at area bars where the US Open Cup trophy is touring and help pass out promotional information and chat up the game to fellow bar patrons. The trophy tour schedule is here.
