D.C. United Meet the Team Day

D.C. United Meet the Team Day

The team’s annual Meet the Team event will be this Sunday, July 19 at RFK from 1 pm-4 pm. Parking will be available in lots 4 and 5, enter through the team store at the Main Gate.  Nest dwellers who are season ticket holders should stop by the SE ticket window on Saturday (opens at 6 pm) to pick up their passes. We will distribute any remaining passes to anyone who wants one at half time. Meet Kim in the Peroni lounge, she’ll be standing in front of an SE banner (from the Nest head up to the 300s and go left, lounge will be on the left overlooking the VW garage). If you get to section 318 on the concourse you’ve gone too far. Two pass limit per person while supplies last.  We’re sorry for the late notice, we just learned about this ourselves.  If you can’t make it on Sun don’t pout, the private SE Meet the Team brunch is coming up on Saturday, Sept 26 (more details coming).

us-open-cup  US Open Cup Ticket Update

There’s been a slight change in the ticket prices for the US Open Cup game next Tuesday (we hope it encourages more people to come out!). Tickets are now $20 for adults/$15 for youths. If you’re a season ticket holder they’re also $15. The SE Ticket Mistress is still taking orders through 6 pm, July 19. Send an e-mail to tickets@screaming-eagles.com or call the SE ticket hotline, 202-544-6744, voice mailbox #1.

***NEW DINING OPTION***
United for D.C. has joined forces with D.C. United sponsor Glory Days as part of their Glory Days Grill for Dining Dollars program. As part of the program, United for D.C. has launched the SAVE to SCORE campaign in which we will receive 10% of every copy of a guest receipt that is submitted to the foundation between July 1st and September 30th! All you have to do is SAVE a copy of your receipt, to SCORE for United for D.C.

To support United for D.C.’s participation in this program and D.C. United’s semifinal match in the US Open Cup, United for D.C. is having a fundraising event on July 21st at Glory Days Germantown from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. They will be hosting a raffle for free tickets to the game that evening. During the game, a second raffle will be held at the United For D.C. tent on the concourse to raffle off gift certificates to Glory Days as well as an autographed 2009 team ball. Any fan who turns in a receipt is automatically entered in the drawing and additional raffle tickets will be for sale for all. Following the game, Glory Days will be open until midnight and offering $5 appetizers.

Pictures from US Open Cup and US-Honduras

SE photogs Matt Mathai and Tom Minto have posted some new pictures from recent games. Matt’s pics are here (US) and here (Open Cup). Tom’s are here on Facebook (if you see yourself, please label).

Oh yeah, Kick Off Time on Sat, July 18

Kick off is actually at 8 pm (not 7:30 as we previously posted here). HOWEVER, the tailgate timing remains the same as usual. Tailgate pass sales end at 6 pm, the buffet will close at 6:30 pm. We can still use some sides and desserts so if you can bring stuff, please send an email to Suzanne.
