Welcome New and Old to the SE Fold

A hearty welcome to new Screaming Eagles

Yes, you CAN call a friend and tell them what a great time you had at the Home Opener!

In fact, kudos go out to all the volunteers who made it happen. From the scrumptious food, to the tifo during the match, to the return of Beninho and LuciGol, to gathering at Kitty’s for the second half of the El Salvador – USA match it certainly was a memorable night.

It was great to see so many new faces amongst the happy hordes enjoying the reunion of sorts in Lot 8 and the return of futbol to RFK!

Lord of the PODS and master of the Tailgate Crew, Jeff sends along his soggy thanks:

I would like to publicly thank all those that helped with a very successfully run tailgate.  In the drizzle, muck and mire they still put on a superb tailgate.  The setup was smooth, the execution was amazing and the breakdown well-done in the middle of a mudhole.

We would welcome new faces to the volunteer ranks with open arms as we need even more help this coming Saturday. Just drop a note to Thea at thea@screaming-eagles.com if you would like to pitch in.

However, let’s also look at the silver lining in all that unsettled weather.

Not only did it not put a damper on the good times had by all…

It was a heck of a time to unveil the stylish new SE ponchos!!

Sure, multi-year members were getting them as renewal gifts, but plenty of other fans wanted one for themselves. As a result we were able to raise $350 for the Thurgood Marshall Middle School soccer program in SE Gear sales alone during the rain!

Which reminds us, you still have a chance for great seats in the Aerie for this Saturday’s match against the Houston Dynamo!

At $22 a pop for $30 seats, they are a terrific deal with the proceeds going to this very same community outreach fundraising initiative in Prince George’s County.

If you would like tickets or more information on how you can help, just drop a note to outreach@screaming-eagles.com.
