United for D.C. is in a competition with the Chicago Fire, LA Galaxy and the Seattle Sounders FC to see who can raise the most money for Nothing but Nets, a grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa.

The challenge will run from March 25-April 25, ending on World Malaria Day.

The SEs will be partnering with United for D.C. on several fundraising efforts (because we certainly don’t want those upstarts from the Pacific NW think they’re all that after just one game of scarf waving! Oh, and we REALLY don’t like those other teams!!)

At the home opener on March 28 we will have tip jars at the tailgate so please feel free to unburden yourselves of loose change and extra dollars (lest they fall out or weigh you down when you’re jumping around in the Nest).
