Believe it Not, We’re Still in This Thing
According to our friends at Behind the Badge, the Chivas’ 1-0 win over Houston last night means United is still in the hunt to advance to the knockout stage of the tournament. Here’s how it would have to break down for D.C. United to advance:
-Chivas would have to beat Atlante on Saturday and United would need to top Houston;
-Chivas would win the group with nine points, while each of the other three teams would all have three points each;
-The first tie-breaker is head-to-head results, but because each team would have beaten one of the others (Houston over Atlante, Atlante over United, United over Houston) it would go to the second tie-breaker which is goal differential;
-Houston’s goal differential is +3, United’s is -2 and Atlante’s is -3 (so United would need to beat Houston by three goals in order to go through).
So basically, GET YOUR BUTT TO RFK ON SAT!!

Tickets in the SE Nest and Perch are still available. Please email the SE Ticket Mistress at tickets@screaming-eagles.com. Tickets are $32.50/ticket if pre-ordered.

SE Tailgate
Volunteers Needed: We need help in all of the usual areas (set up/take down, grilling, buffet, drinks and membership table). As always, volunteers eat for free. If you’re new to the club, this is a great way to jump in and meet people. Please contact Thea at thea@screaming-eagles.com if you can help.
Sides/Desserts: Saturday’s menu will be The Meats, veggie options and pizza that you know and love. If you’d like to add to the spread with a side or a dessert, that would be groovy (doesn’t have to be home made or enough to feed an army). To those who have been bringing stuff, thank you, it’s all been delicious! Please contact Thea to let her know what is coming so we have a good mix of each and can leave table space.
Tailgate Timing
We will be open when the lots open at 4 pm so please plan your arrival accordingly to ensure getting some food and drink (the best stuff comes out early).
4:00 pm Drink tent opens
4:30 pm The Fabulous Buffet Opens
7:00 pm Buffet closes
7:30 pm Beverage tent closes, head inside
Tailgate Passes
Member passes are $6, non member $10 (non member pass is good for drinks and food). Please order passes in advance, it REALLY helps with menu planning if we know how many are coming.
You can pre-order passes for pickup at the ticket pick up table (next to membership) via Paypal by sending to payments@screaming-eagles.com (in the notes section, please indicate how many you are purchasing and if member or non-member). If you order by 4 pm Friday, July 18 we will have your name on a list, after 4 pm please print off your Paypal receipt and bring with you to the tailgate (we need a confirmation of pre-payment). At the tailgate turn in your pass at the tailgate check-in table where you will receive a wristband and then you can belly up to the buffet.
Passes for the tailgate are also available for purchase on the day of the game, cash only, at the SE ticket window.
Name that Tune-Win a Free Tailgate!
Come up with the best song title that best describes our upcoming game against the Houston Dynamo and you can win a free tailgate (title can be something you make up or from an actual song). Email your entry to Kim by 5 pm on Friday, July 18 (include your name and email address). The winning entry will be posted on Saturday along with the playlist for the tailgate (winner will also be notified by email so please put email address you can be reached at during the weekend). Winner must use tailgate pass on the weekend that they win.

Tifo for the Nest
The tifo (flags, banners and what not) in the Nest continues to grow every week. Thank you to everyone who participates in making the banners and flags (it’s a lot of work!) and the fol folks who help hold and wave on game day in the sections.
